The Deputy Assistant Director in FBI Peter Strzok was surprisedly fired over allegations against Donald Trump after sending texts to his lover criticizing him. The top FBI agent has led investigations such as the interference of the bureau Russian election in 2016, Russia spies, defense officials accused of selling secrets to China and the Hilary Clinton’s use of private emails while she was secretary of state. The 48-year old veteran sent messages to an FBI lawyer, Lisa Page with whom he was in a relationship with. The text messages contain messages disparaging the US president. The firing was ordered by the Deputy Director David Bowdich on Friday. Peter was initially demoted to a position in human resources and suspended for 60days which came in as a normal disciplinary move. Strzok’s attorney Aitan Goelman said in his words that the decision was not right in any way, adding that it undermines the normal disciplinary process. In his statement, he said, “The decision to fire Special Agent Strzok is not only a departure from typical Bureau practice but also contradicts (FBI) Director (Christopher) Wray’s testimony to Congress and his assurances that the FBI intended to follow its regular process in this and all personnel matters”. This shows a significant downfall in ranks for Peter. He was slammed by President Trump who called his recent testimony before a Congress a disgrace. In this light, President Trump ordered the case of Clinton to be redone and that of the Russian investigation canceled. He wrote “ Agent Peter Strzok was just fired from the FBI finally. The list of bad players in the FBI and DOJ gets longer and longer. Based on the fact that Strzok was in charge of the Witch Hunt, will it be dropped? It is a total Hoax. No collision, No obstruction. I just fight back”. Moments later he added with a tweet saying “Just fired Agent Strzok, formerly of the FBI, was in charge of the crooked Hilary Clinton sham investigation. It was a total fraud on the American public and must be totally redone” The chances are slim for Peter to get back his job because he was fired by FBI’s number 2 official. Strzok later wrote “It has been an honor to serve my country and work with the fine men and women of the FBI,” The statement includes a link to a GoFundMe account to settle his legal costs and incurring income. He also stand to lose his portion of his pension arrears because he is below the 50years mark.
