World’s First 20th Century Fox Theme Park In Malaysia

20th Century Fox theme park opening in this resort in Malaysia

If you leave the busy urban centre of Kuala Lumpur behind and drive for about 57 kilometres, you reach Resorts World Genting which was formerly known as Genting Highlands Resort. The place nestles tantalizingly on the peak of Mount Ulu Kali which has an altitude of about 1,800 metres.

The place has many claims to fame and the most recent one is, to say the least, thrilling. The world’s first 20th Century Fox movie based theme park is poised to open there. The park was scheduled to open in 2018 but is likely to open in 2019. The 20th Century Theme Park promises to be the jewel in the crown of Resorts World Genting with about 25 spectacular rides, all based on Hollywood blockbusters. One can see the hectic construction activity at the 25-acre site from high up if you are arriving at the Resorts World Genting in a cable car.

Resorts World Genting is an integrated complex that encompasses casinos, hotels, shopping malls, entertainment centres, and much more.

The world’s largest hotel in terms of number of rooms is also found here. It makes for an ideal family getaway which offers something for the entire family. The beautiful weather, which is a sea change from that in Kuala Lumpur makes the place an all weather destination.

It is fascinating to travel back in time to the early 20th century when a young teenager called Lim Goh Tong leaves his native village in China and lands in Malaysia. This teenager through his grit, determination and vision progresses from odd construction jobs to become one of the most powerful businessman in Malaysia. It is his vision and ingenuity that has transformed what was an inaccessible mountain peak into a leisure paradise. The dream that he saw has fructified into reality and now is a dream like destination in the midst of clouds which draws millions of visitors every year.
