Night rest (sleep comfort) have become a very serious challenge as lack of accommodation, food and drugs shortage hits Edo state Internal Displaced Persons (IDP’s) at the International Christian Centre (ICC) situated, at Uhogua, Edo state, South-Nigeria.
I wept bitterly when I paid a visit on an investigative news reportage mission to the camp. Their condition due to lack of sufficient fund to take care of the displaced persons calls for urgent and continuous donations from the International communities and good spirited individuals.
Over 3,000 persons including children men and women survived on daily basis by donations and contributions from philantropists and sympathizers.
It would be recalled that these displaced persons had suffer chronic trauma as a result of Boko-Haran attack in the North-East of Nigeria making thousands of persons homeless and traumatised.
Children in the camp, many has loose their parents, women widowed, while some men loose their wives during the attack which is still ongoing.
I humbly appeal on behalf of Pst. Solomon Folorunsho, (Director of the Camp) to International aid bodies and good spirited persons to reach these displaced persons at www.homefortheneedy.com They need your urgent assistance.
In a related development, it was another sad moment for traumatised and agonised women, children and old people at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp, Anguldi, Jos, South Local Government Area of Plateau State, when hoodlums broke into the camp, unleashed terror and looted donated food items.
The leader of the camp, Francis Chong, condemned the attack in gross totality. I sincerely commend at this point the response of the management team of the Geoscience IDP’s Camp, Anguldi-Zawan, condenming the unruly, barbaric and nasty attack by the hoodlums on these innocent citizens.
It is high time for government to adequately upgrade the security network on our IDP’s to avoid all forms of repeat attack i submit.
