Afghanistan is one of the largest peanut producer in Asian countries that producing over 33,000 tons peanuts yearly.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Afghanistan annually produces about 23,000 tons of peanut. The Government of Afghanistan will export the Afghan peanut to China by three aerial corridors. The Finance Advisor of the President says that Afghan businessmen will export peanut of Afghanistan through three aerial corridors with Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou of China.
it’s though that the Afghan government and China have been made a contract related to exporting of peanuts to china few years ago.The government of Afghanistan has made an effort to bring Afghanistan to the four economies of the region and the world. So far, Afghanistan has trade with merchants in Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, Kazakistan and European countries through air corridors.
Kabir Alami is one of the young trader who has been started trading fruits few years ago. he said; “ the strong weakness of traiding fruit is haven’t any hall for exhibition or a market for show, in order to invite foregner traiders and introduce them types of our fruit specially peanuts”
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry says that the Afghan company is fully prepared to export the peanut to China and they have fully readiness. Atiqullah Nasrat, Chamber of Commerce and Industries says: “Afghanistan is one of the largest producers of peanut in the region, but unfortunately, if we look at exports, our majority will be exported directly from Pakistan, not from Afghanistan.
Homira Omari is a businesswoman in Balkh, who secretly started her activities during the Taliban regime. she think that their products gone to pakistan and they sell it by their our marks and it’s way that Afghan products lost its costs in the world. she said: “if we could have aerial corridors before or at least five years ago then our products would have more reputation and would increase or at least we won’t lost our products name and money. since ten years ago we have sold too mcuh peanuts in very less cost and we lost global market”.
The Ministry of Economic, in a project prepared under the name of “productive Afghanistan,” said that only by preventing of smuggling then the Afghanistan income would change from the $ 450 to $ 1 billion.
The aerial corridors is opened in the situations that daily bombiing, kindapping and war between Taliban and Afghan Army from one side and haven’t hall for show from other side created restriction in front of fruit traiding specially peanuts. A large part of Afghanistan’s peanut is produced in three southeast provinces as Paktia, Paktika and Khost.
