Being Defensive Is Right. Being Offensive in the Name of Defense Is Nothing But A Crime

The current situation of Gaza, a coastal territory seized by Israeli forces, is not something which needs any introduction. It is a place that has seen numerous armed incursions, which resulted in Palestinians being injured and killed.

People living in Gaza are now used to the sounds of an ambulance siren, a roaring aircraft, drones, bullets, and explosions, which happen now and then almost all over the Gaza Strip. But still, people living there sleep with the hope that one day it will end.

It’s not like effort is not being made to mediate between Palestine and Israel. Israel is being pressured by many regional countries. It has even been discussed at the U.N. level too, but Israel is not ready to abide by any terms.

“The Secretary-General is following closely the latest security developments in Gaza. He urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint. The United Nations Special Coordinator, Nickolay Mladenov, is working closely with Egypt and all concerned parties to restore calm.”

Israel is making soft targets of children who are under 18. At any place, if they see or learn about any gathering of these children, they don’t think twice before shooting them. And Israeli forces do all these on the name of “being defensive”.

The recent events comprising the Palestinians launching rockets towards Southern Israel, as reported by Israeli forces only, was a retaliation against their army for taking position to blockade the Gaza Strip. The main Israeli targets in Gaza: Homes, hotel, infrastructure, TV station and official buildings.

At least 12 Palestinians were killed by these airstrikes as per Gaza’s Health Ministry since Sunday. And now, Israeli forces are tightly positioned, so more massacres of Palestinians can be expected. So far, more than 80 attacks are already being made by Israelis in the various regions of the blockade on Gaza’s border, where 2 million defenseless people live – among them 800,000 children. This has caused fear and panic among people and terrorized the children.

It requires an international intervention with strong words to Israel to prevent their offensive assault. Israeli forces don’t want peace, they only know to kill and just keep killing.
