There have been many cases of children in Kenya this year. One incident left many people in distress when a family reported their missing 8-month-old baby Consolata Wambui. Baby Wambui’s photos were shared widely across social media platforms.
How Baby Wambui went missing
Wambui’s mother said that on November 8th, 2018, she had gone to breastfeed her baby at lunch hours. She was left behind to take care of her business. A few moments later, she left her baby for some minutes, and when she came back. No door was broken, and nothing was stolen.
Family offers Ksh 100,000 Reward
Two to desperation, the family of the child pledged to give Ksh.100, 000 to anyone who revealed the whereabouts of the baby. The baby’s father said he was suffering from trauma since he lost his daughter.
“From the time we lost the baby, we are extra cautious. My wife does not leave the house anymore. She stays at home the whole day, “said Mr. Kairo.
How did the mother become a suspect?
The police found baby Wambui in Molo under the custody of a woman called Margret Wairimu who also claimed to be the mother. Wambui’s mother and boy with the baby.
It is also alleged that the baby has been sold for Ksh. 80, 000. The main suspect will be taken to court on Monday.
