A young man from Kenya was killed by his uncle for life insurance money. Evans Kasyoki is said to have a life insurance policy worth 9 million Kenyan shillings.
It is reported that that the deceased had taken the life insurance policies using his uncle’s name and listed himself as the beneficiary. Musyoka’s family believe that the man killed him in order to claim the benefits of his life insurance policy.
Kasyoki was arrested but freed later under unclear circumstances. The Deputy President of Kenya has been following this case. He warned that anyone who tried to obstruct this case would face the law.
Fresh investigations have been ordered by the director of public prosecutions in Kenya, Noordin Haji. It was reported that the deceased had taken two life insurance policies.
He had no formal employment and after his death, the uncle started the insurance claiming process immediately. According to Citizen TV, the man had some WhatsApp conversation that the payment process should speed up.
Authorities are looking for the suspect after his release. This disheartening story has left many Kenyans in disbelief on how cruel people can be to gain wealth.
