The security operation by an Israeli force infiltrating the large town of Abasan in the southern Gaza Strip region of Khan Yunis, resulted in the deaths of seven Palestinians, the killing of an Israeli officer and the injuring of another.
At the scene of the event, The Anatolia News Agency spoke to a military source, who declined to be identified. This source said that military planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles intervened to save the Israeli soldiers. A helicopter landed under cover from the intensive shelling to transport the dead and injured.
The source confirmed that the Israeli force entered Gaza by road and used three civilian vehicles, one of them a V6 and the other a truck, while the third type of vehicle was not identified. Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that it was reported that Israeli aircraft destroyed the vehicles by shelling from the air after the evacuation of the force.
