Bobi Wine is a Ugandan famous Ugandan politician whose real names are Kyangulanyi Ssentamu. He became famous even before winning his parliamentary by-election in June 2017. He was a singer who got his fame from songs like ‘Sunda” (Shake)
Bobi Wine is also known for opposing a new bill in Uganda which was meant to eliminate the age limit for the presidency.
Bobi wine was arrested in a north-western town of Arua after his driver was shot dead by police officers. It was at that place that he was campaigning for an opposition candidate.
Bobi had said that the police had shot his driver mistakenly thinking that it was him. He also posted a gory photo of a blood-drenched man drooping at the wheel of a car.
He was arrested with the charges of blocking the presidential motorcade. During that time, one of the vehicles of President Museveni was damaged on the windscreen.
There have been reports that Bobi Wine had serious injuries. However, President Yoweri Museveni said that those were fake news. He said that Bobi didn’t have any born fractures or head injuries as it had been reported.
He said that the medical reports handed to him by the UPDF doctors proved that that wasn’t true.
“I decided to check with Army doctors because, being a disciplined army, UPDF doctors always take precautions in such situations. Bobi Wine had already been seen with doctors in Arua, Kampala and Gulu. He has no head or chest injuries or born fractures.” , said President Museveni.
