Not fewer than two worshippers were feared dead while others sustained injuries when the building they were worshipping collapsed during a church service at Adagbrassa in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The worshippers had gathered at St. Paul Catholic Church for Sunday morning mass when at mid-service, the building suddenly collapsed.
The church drummer, Jeffery Enukanehire, died on the spot when a part of the building wall fell on him while drumming during a prayer and worship session.
The father of the drummer, Jefferson Enukanehire while narrating the death of his son, said, My son succeeded in freeing himself from the initial wall that fell on him when another part of the building collapsed and crushed him to death.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa, has expressed sadness over the death of the worshippers in the unfortunate incident of St. Paul Catholic Church building, Ugolo, Adagbrasa.
