The Latest Revelations in the State Capture Enquiry.
Who is Raymond Zondo?
Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has been tasked with doing the work of digging up all of the evidence in the state Capture enquiry, so who is this man?
He was first appointed to the High Court by Nelson Mandela in 1999. In 2000 he was appointed to the Labour Court. It was, however, Jacob Zuma who appointed him as Deputy Chief Justice in 2017.
His approval to the role of presiding over the State Capture Enquiry, by “The Judiciary Group,” was noted by the comment “ Solid if unremarkable.”
What revelations has he brought to light?
The head line say it all, “ Zuma exploded the cabinet.” Explaining the meaning of this statement to the enquiry Manuel stated that in October of 2010 President Jacob Zuma made over 10 Ministerial changes to the Cabinet and at the same time fired 7 ministers from their positions.
Manual goes on to say that Zuma changed reluctant ministers with pliable ones at the behest of the Gupta Family, this to further their business interest with the Government of South Africa.
Starting the changes in 2009 Zuma created new ministerial positions by splitting ministries into two and creating new ones from the splits. This enabled him ( Zuma ) to appoint those whom he new to be pliable to his wishes. Thus entrenching the philosophy of State Capture deep into the Government.
Interesting and revealing times ahead.
